Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

design is good

Marylander 6/22/2026

Design is good. One thing to improve is the (x14?) screws used on the sides that holds the cook top together - it uses hex headed Philips screws. i wish the screws could be more flush mounted so that the cook top could more easily slide into the table top - or have the screw heads be more rounded/beveled to provide a smooth, low-profile finish. The table top was cut exactly to fit 36" and so sliding this new cook top in was much harder than needed to be.

Cant clean the tray 3/13/2026

The stove is ok - came installed with the house. Only used the exhaust fan once. Apparently theres a grease filter that is supposed to be used but theres no options to buy it on the kitchenaid site which is awesome and no way to lift the filter support tray out. Also no videos on how to clean the dumb thing.

Big on top, but fits a smaller space

DW in Texas 2/20/2026

Its really difficult to find a down draft cooktop. And when your prior one was 34", you think you're limited. As it turns out, our cut-out was large enough (with little adjustment) and the KitchenAid cooktop it in. the burners work great and the grates are heavy, but lift easily -- which allows for easy cleaning.

Works as expected but appearance is not quality

jhanjo 2/14/2026

I've had this cooktop for just over 1 year. While it functions as expected and there have been no mechanical or electrical problems, I find the quality of appearance to be unsatisfactory. The labels or markings around the burner knobs are fading or have disappeared even though no harsh chemicals were used during cleaning. On one of the burner knob locations the adhesive on the trim piece under the knob has failed so that the trim piece is completely loose. Spills from cooking are difficult to clean without using something abrasive and anything abrasive will scratch the stainless steel so be aware!

Burner layout

Cook#2 1/8/2026

The two larger burners should not be front and back of each other using the same grate. Large pots/skillets won't fit to enable the use of both burners at the same time. Not sure if the burners would be far enough apart if side-by-side. This is not referring to the single largest burner.

Disappointed

Drop in 1/6/2026

I am disappointed in the workmanship of The down draft feature of this stove top. I have cut my hand several time wiping the down draft spot of this stove. There is a very sharp piece of metal almost like raw sheet metal inside the area. There needs to be some finishing of that it is dangerous it cut the top of my hand by a vein which took a very long time to stop. Also the filter screen just sits in the hole !!!!!!! There is no bracket s to hold it in place it just flops around in there!!!!! Did this unit not get finished during production???? Its installed and I'm trying to figure out a way of fixing the sharp metal so I don't sever my fingers off. ( yes its that sharp)

Poor design and unattractive look

OC kids 12/2/2025

It looks ugly compared to my previous GE Monogram unit. Placing the downdraft intake next to and on the level with a big burner was a stupid idea. It sucks the flame toward downdraft making that burner practically unusable. Monogram had it sufficiently elevated.

Beautiful Cooktop Came Without One Burner

Janeybw3 9/12/2025

This is a beautiful cooktop which works well. The downdraft is powerful and easy to use without being too loud. It it easy to clean. I gave it 4 stars because it came missing one of the burner spreaders. Seems like an easy fix, but every time you call KitchenAid you are on hold for at least 20-30 minutes before speaking to a person. The first person I spoke with quickly transferred me to someone who asked me the location of the burner and sent out the part. It took about 3 weeks to arrive and then it was not the correct part. Another phone call lasting well over an hour ended with the KitchenAid customer service person unable to send out another part because they should not have sent the first and they did not have a spec sheet which was accurate for this model. I had to set up a warranty service call and give up my time to be here for a service technician to come and verify that the part was, indeed, missing. The tech even had trouble figuring out the correct part to order because the specs are, as already mentioned, incorrect for this model. At this point I am again awaiting the missing part in the mail. Hopefully it will be correct. I do not want to have to call them again and waste more time on the phone and for a technician to come a second time.

Great Cooktop

Tracy P. 8/2/2025

I bought this a month ago so it hadn™€™t been very long but so far I love it. The 5 burners come on nice and high. Fire cooks evenly. Easy to clean. Downdraft is really strong and suck out the smells, but it is really loud. Hard to hear my Tv over the loud downdraft. The other thing that I am trying to get used to is the 4 burners are closer than what I™€™m used to having had for burners that were much farther apart. I have to arrange the handles on the pots and pans just right when I™€™m using more than one burner.

Good overall cooktop

km28117 7/24/2025

I had this installed about 3 weeks ago and overall I'm satisfied with my purchase, The grates are so big and heavy that they make the cooktop look so much larger than in the pictures. The grates make it look so well built, but the burners feel chintzy, I really like the different size burners and the layout of the knobs is very intuitive, My biggest complaint is that the cooktop is hard to keep clean. Even if I only use one pan I have to wipe it down. It shows everything!

Professional look and performance.

Oz06 7/5/2025

We purchased the cooktop as part of a comprehensive kitchen renovation. We were limited in choices as we were replacing a downdraft electric cooktop. After shopping for a while, we felt the Kitchenaid represented the best bang for the buck. Since installation, we couldn™€™t be more pleased. The product looks and performs great. We really like the multi speed downdraft fan, the varied size of the burners and the contiguous grates to accommodate larger cooking vessels. The only minor issue was the fan worked almost too good. On the smaller burners, we have to wait until lit before turning the fan on as it can interfere with the lighting of the burner.

Disappointed

Lyn* 6/26/2025

I am so disappointed in this product. It cooks fine, but the clean up of spills is a nightmare. The very first time I used the cooktop, I made tomato sauce. I have made tomato sauce on many stainless steel cooktops for many years and never had a problem. When I went to clean up the spills, the sauce had discolored the cooktop. I immediately contacted the appliance store. Totally dissatisfied as their response was a whole littany of how tomatoes are acidic. Seriously? In addition, even spills of water are difficult to clean up without marking or streaking.

Gas downdraft cooktop issues

LateonArrival 6/12/2025

I purchased the gas cooktop in December 2024. It was on back-order until March 2025. When it finally arrived there were no burner caps in the box. Gas stoves won't work without the burner caps. It was another 2 weeks or so until the caps arrived. The stove was installed professionally by the retailer. This is a vacation home and I was at my other home when it was installed. When I came back I found that there are serious issues with the cooktop. The burners spark continuously when the right burner is turned on. The flame of 2 of the 5 burners do not adjust properly. The retailer told me that a replacement was not possible and I needed to contact the KitchenAid warranty department. They only schedule repairs 2 weeks in advance. Difficult for me since I am not there very often. I am still waiting for it to be repaired.

Bad service

Markfrompdx 5/30/2025

We bought the stove top 4 weeks ago. It was missing a gas diffuser. So we could use 4 but not 5 burners. NW Natural put in an order to get the part. Customer Service said they would get us the part in 2 weeks. We got a part which was for something else. We told NW Natural and they asked me to send a pic of our stove they sold us and the burner that was missing. We did. Received email that correct part would be sent-again telling us it would be another 2 weeks. Part came today. Unbelievable, part was not right. I am so frustrated.

OK, but some flaws.

Dennis99 5/25/2025

I've been cooking with this cooktop for about a week and am pleased with the operation so far. My rating is based upon two problems. The power connector for the downdraft fan came with a broken connection and I had to pay my contractor to make it work. Second, the grease filter on the downdraft is a little too short to cover the entire exhaust vent. This seems like a design flaw.

nice product. poor customer service

onionjim 2/28/2025

The rating given to this product reflects a low grade for customer service and a high mark for the product. According to the installation instructions, the regulator included with the unit was required for installation. This part was missing from the carton, so the installation could not be completed. There was no customer service available on weekends (when I first tried to contact them) and limited hours on weekdays. When contact was finally made, the representative stated the part was in-stock and immediately placed an order. It did not ship for almost two weeks. After two and a half weeks, the part was received and installed. There was absolutely no sense of urgency from Whirlpool to fix a problem they created and resulted in a supposedly premium product sitting around for two and a half weeks. A premium product should have premium customer service. Not the case for this cooktop. It is a good looking product and was easy to setup and install, once all parts were received. It has a thoughtful ergonomic design and nice feature set. It lights quickly and easily from a logically arranged control panel. The grill surface forms a contiguous plane across almost the entire cooktop, which I like. I also like the assortment of burner sizes so they can be optimized for the need. Downdraft designs generally have an issue pirating heat from adjacent burners. This product has a relatively tall cast iron barrier around the vent opening, so has reduced this problem. The cooktop is far easier to clean than its predecessor, but the stainless steel seems very easy to scratch.

Cooktop is very nice. Love all the burners. Only thing I would change is the knob placement. They are so close together it™€™s hard to clean between them.
