The control knobs are made of thin plastic that failed after 2 years. Ordered replacement aluminum knobs from Amazon for $20 for 5 knobs, the OEM part was $45/knob.

I bought my cooktop a few months ago. It took awhile to get used to. The large burners really cook fast so I burnt a few things when trying to get used to the large amount of heat. Now that I am used to it, cooking is better. I like how quickly I can able to cook things when need to.

Hard to regulate the heat on the burners there are no numbers, so you have an idea how high or low you are setting the heat.
I am happy have my the 2 large burners in front since those are the ones I use the most.

Big upgrade! Gets hot quick and has adequate settings. Cleans up like new after cooling and using cooktop cleaner. Highly recommend!

I had my other whirlpool glass top stove for 26 years and loved it it was as spotless after all those years as new. When we had to replace it I automatically went to whirlpool I hate the top it scratches just by moving a pan, and the pans slip on it when you™™re cooking,I have to wonder how many people have got burned. I™™ve only had it 1 and 1/2 years and I™™m looking for a new one.its sad because I bake and cook more than most people. Just wanted to let you and other™™s know. I™™ve always bought whirlpool but I won™™t again because of this

The cooktop looks really nice. It was to replace an older Whirlpool that was more than 20 years old & we were having some minor issues with it (element not turning off without trying a few times). The cost to have it checked would have required a technician 2.5 hours travel time plus diagnosis time & repair time so we figured we would replace it. I'm very happy with the purchase.
There are 2 things I would change: 1. the elements are not easy to discern so I have to move the pot/pan to center it after turning on the element (the old cooktop had a speckled coloured surface but solid black for the elements). 2. the control buttons are black with a small indentation to select the heat setting. It is very difficult to see. I feel this could be corrected with a coloured indentation or small dot.
We are still getting accustomed to the controls & settings but I am pleased. I would buy it again if replacing this one. It gets 4 of 5 stars because we are getting older & our eyes are not what they used to be so any help with the controls would be great.

The only thing I don™™t like my cooktop is the knobs. I have a hard time seeing what number I have it dialed up. The little slit should be white to indicate it which would be readily visible. I now have to lean down right over the hot cooktop to see them.

Scratch and marks magnet. Just have had the cook top for 3 days and we see permanent marks formed on the glass top. We used the manufacturer recommended cleaning solution but has no impact on the permanently formed marks. The previous cooktop -Amana that we had for last 15 years was anti scratch and marks.

I bought this a month ago to replace the exact one I had purchased approximately 4 to 5 years ago. The older one started not keeping a consistent temperature on the left front burner. (go from low to high to completely off) That happened for several months and then all the burners started to do the same thing, I love the stove-top is the reason I bought the exact same one as a replacement hoping this was just an isolated incident and the new one would not have the same problem. I like this one because it has 2 large burners onthe front that can be used as smaller burners also.

This cooktop was shown as the replacement model for our old Whirlpool glass cooktop after we cracked the unreplaceable glass on that one. The required cutout dimensions in our granite countertop for the new cooktop matched the cutout for the damaged one. Within the first week of use, the glass for one burner developed hundreds of tiny rings that we could not remove with a razor, scrubber sponge, soap and water, or one brand of cooktop light duty cleaner. The rings couldn't be felt on the surface, so we assumed they below the surface. We contacted Whirlpool for warranty service who willingly scheduled an onsite repair. Prior to the repair appointment, we purchased Affresh glass cooktop cleaner, which is recommended in the cooktop manual, though certain it wouldn't help. To our amazement, a couple of rounds of the Affresh cleaner and considerable rubbing completely removed every ring. Attached are before and after photos (the tiny specks in the "after" photo are from my camera, not visible on the actual burner). Bottom line: the new cooktop performs well, is a sleeker look than the old one, and you abolutely must use Affresh or an equivalent cleaner to keep the glass looking like new.

This cooktop seems to be ok so far. Can't tell you much more as I have only had it about 2 weeks. It is easy to use and heats quickly when needed. However, it is somewhat difficult to keep clean. But I am managing that so far. I have noticed that if you do not clean cooktop thoroughly after every use it would be almost impossible to clean. Even something as simple as fingerprints will get burned into it. So even though the cooktop has been cleaned. Before using again, I have clear it of any fingerprints before use.

not impressed, difficult to keep clean. The knob control is difficult to read as it is not clearly marked. It should have a white marker on the indentation so you know where to set the temperature.

Seems like a good unit - do like that it has 2 dual burners for flexibility if ever doing 2 bigger pots or pans. Does seem to heat fairly quickly. The one negative we have noticed so far is the knobs. It would have really been nice if they had put a white inlay in the little recess area on the on of the knob to make it much easier to see where the setting is. This is especially true on the dual burners so you can tell if it is pointed to the small or the big size of the burner. I believe the stainless steel version does this and I know our older Whirlpool we replaced did it on the black knobs. Seems like a cost savings that is not worth it.
