I installed the water filter into my fridge and tested the water with my TDS meter and it showed 70 red and then tested my tap water out of my kitchen facuet and it showed 60. This filter somehow is worse than my tap water.

Horrible Return Process

I ordered my water filter through the Whirlpool site and order the wrong number filter (that is on me, I thought I had researched the correct one for our new fridge). The return process for Whirlpool has been one of the most difficult and frustrating processes... Every phone number listed on the help portion of the website ends up at the same menu where it takes you through bot after bot asking you to select different numbers to lead you to the answer. I called almost all of them and never actually got to speak to a person and none of the menu options included 'return' or 'replacement' ever. I was going to return and order straight from the source but I don't think I will be doing that anymore. I finally found the return form online that I will use but this process was VERY frustrating and not straightforward at all.

I purchased this filter, EDR4RXDI and thought it would be the same since it is the one I use in my Maytag Refridgerator. The water tastes like there is some additional chemical in it- it was awful. Thought I was being poison. I went to Home Depot and bought a replacement filter the next day. I guess I am out of the money I spent buying this.

Lures you in with a decent-looking subscription offer for water filters but then delivered them 11 days late with no explanation. No response to an email inquiry about my order. The customer service line is a bunch of circular menu buttons until you finally reach a representative. Then they make you pay for return shipping even though they screwed up the delivery. On top of that, they aren't even the best deal on filters so definitely not going through Whirlpool again in the future.

Recently purchased this filter. After several attempts and some online troubleshooting, I could not get this filter to have more pressure than dripping out of the fridge. Absolute waste of money, and I will go back to the office brand filters.

WHIRLPOOL SENT ME SEVERAL EMAIL TELLING ME I COULD GET A DISCOUNT AND THE FILTER SIZE THAT I NEEDED FOR MY REFRIGERATOR. I ORDERED THEIR RECOMMENDED FILTER FOR MY REFRIGERATOR WHICH WAS WHR4RXD1. I TOOK IT OUT OF THE PACKAGE TO REPLACE THE ONE IN THE REFRIGERATOR WHICH DID NOT MATCH THE ONE IN THE REFRIGERTOR. This is the second time I™™ve used whirlpool to get my fridge water filter (my fridge is a whirlpool). I used my fridge # to select the ™proper™ water filter. For whatever reason, no matter what I do, the filter creates a horrible noise -seems like something is wrong with the filter getting the water through. Like I said, I had this problem before so I switched to a Culligan filter. Worked like a charm!! I just switched back to whirlpool thinking my first go around was just a lemon. Nope. Back to Culligan it is!

I purchased the exact filter whirlpool suggested with all the beat down mailers and email and finally it arrived and ITS WRONG. This is ridiculous. Whirlpool, why beat me down with coupons and insisting I had to change my filter only to suggest the WRONG ONE!! AND YOU ARE CLOSED ? How can you be closed and unavailable for all time zones. I am so disappointed I want to sell this stupid fridge and start over.

We drink a lot of water and because we don™™t want microplastics and other unpleasant things in our water, we like to use a filter. I received this filter to test for my honest opinion. I liked that it was a recommended filter for Kitchenaid and I liked that it removed contaminants including lead, which is something I worry about a lot with a small child. Installation was a breeze and it was quick and easy to set up.
